Beyond the Degree | Financial Pulse™

Welcome to Beyond the Degree.
Our purpose is to make education accessible, encourage informed decisions, and help individuals look beyond immediate concerns to better understand their options.
These Terms of Use apply to the Beyond the Degree website, its educational resources, and the Financial Pulse™ assessment.
Please read these Terms before using Financial Pulse™.
1. Educational Purpose
Beyond the Degree provides educational information for healthcare practitioners and the broader public.
Financial Pulse™ is a complimentary educational self-assessment designed to help participants reflect on their financial preparedness, recognize potential gaps, and identify areas deserving further attention.
Its guiding principle is simple: Education before recommendation.
2. Not Individualized Professional Advice
Financial Pulse™ Results and Financial Prescriptions™ are educational findings generated from the answers you provide.
They are not a comprehensive financial needs analysis, personalized insurance recommendation, or substitute for individualized financial, legal, tax, investment, or other professional advice.
The assessment does not independently verify your financial circumstances, existing coverage, policy provisions, eligibility, or future needs.
Before making decisions about insurance coverage or other financial arrangements, consider consulting an appropriately qualified professional who can assess your individual circumstances.
3. Accuracy of Information and Results
Your Results are based on the information you provide and the assessment's educational methodology.
You are responsible for reviewing your responses and considering whether the resulting information accurately reflects your circumstances.
Financial Pulse™ cannot identify every financial risk, coverage limitation, or personal circumstance.
Results should be viewed as a starting point for further understanding, not a definitive conclusion about your financial security.
4. Complimentary Review
Participants may request a complimentary review with Farlene Soong, Income Protection Specialist and Independent Life Insurance Agent.
Requesting a review is entirely optional.
A review may provide an opportunity to discuss your assessment findings, ask questions, and explore areas that may benefit from closer attention.
Submitting a request does not guarantee an appointment, establish an ongoing advisory relationship, or obligate either party to enter into an insurance transaction.
Where individualized insurance advice or recommendations are subsequently provided, they will be subject to the applicable professional, regulatory, disclosure, and documentation requirements.
There is no obligation to purchase any product or service.
5. Privacy, Email Verification, and Results Delivery
To participate in Financial Pulse™, you are required to verify an email address.
Upon completion, your personalized Results are emailed to your verified email address. A copy of those same Results is also sent to the Financial Pulse™ administrator, Farlene Soong, whether or not you request a complimentary review.
Your detailed assessment information may also be temporarily stored for security, delivery, record management, and review purposes.
A complimentary review request is optional and separate from the standard assessment completion process.

6. Intellectual Property and Permitted Use
Beyond the Degree, Financial Pulse™, and their original educational materials, assessment questions, methodology, structure, scoring approaches, Results presentations, written content, and associated designs are protected by applicable intellectual property laws to the extent those laws provide protection.
Permission is granted to access and complete Financial Pulse™ for personal educational purposes.
You may save, print, and share your own personalized Results with your financial advisor, insurance representative, or another trusted professional for discussion.
Except where permitted by applicable law or with prior written authorization, you may not reproduce, distribute, republish, commercially exploit, or adapt substantial protected portions of the assessment or its proprietary materials.
You may not use protected assessment materials to develop or assist in creating a substantially similar competing assessment without authorization, except to the extent permitted by law.
These restrictions do not prevent the lawful use of publicly available ideas, general financial knowledge, or information independently developed without copying protected materials.

7. Acceptable Use
When using Beyond the Degree or Financial Pulse™, you agree not to:
Provide another person's personal information without appropriate authority.
Attempt to access another participant's assessment or private records.
Circumvent email verification, security measures, or access restrictions.
Use automated systems to disrupt, overload, or improperly extract protected assessment content.
Interfere with the normal operation or security of the website or assessment.
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect participants, the service, or applicable legal rights.
8. Website Availability and Third-Party Services
Beyond the Degree and Financial Pulse™ rely on third-party technology services to operate.
While we aim to provide a reliable experience, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, immediate email delivery, or that the service will always be free from technical errors.
External websites and services linked from Beyond the Degree may have their own terms, policies, and practices.
We are not responsible for the content or operation of third-party websites that we do not control.
9. Limitations and Responsibility
We take reasonable care in developing and maintaining our educational content.
However, financial circumstances, insurance products, laws, and individual needs may change. Educational content may therefore become incomplete or outdated.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Beyond the Degree does not guarantee a particular financial outcome or accept responsibility for decisions made solely in reliance on generalized educational Results.
Nothing in these Terms excludes responsibilities, remedies, or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable professional obligations and consumer protections.
10. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may update educational content, assessment features, security measures, and these Terms as the service develops.
The Effective Date will identify the published version.
Where changes materially affect participant rights or the handling of personal information, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain additional consent where required.
11. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of Ontario and Canada, subject to any mandatory legal rights or protections that may apply to participants in other jurisdictions.
